INTERVIEWING SISTER DOMINICA! :)

Hello everybody!
Today we come with a very interesting interview of Sister Dominica, who has been in Benin since 1977 helping in a little town.

Interviewer: Hello Dominica, it is nice to be here with you.
Dominica: Hello, I am glad to be here with you too.
I: Well, let’s start. What does the project involve?
D: In Benin we tried to improve the lifestyle of women and girls, we have a school for children and a boarding school too. The money we receive from the collection is invested in the building of mills and wells.
I: How have you felt after doing this project?
D: I have felt happiness and in spite of the difficulties, the people live happily and they fight and never give up, it shocked me a lot! For example, one day in the village there was an old woman, dying with cancer, Veronique. She knew she was dying and before that she said to her nephew: “you will suffer, but don´t give up faith and thank your parents and brothers, who helped me”. She said that her nephew was excluded from her family because he was Catholic.
I: Why did you become a missionary?
D: The main reason was the faith; I thought I had to share it. In Spain there are many sisters and priests, so I went to Benin, a zone whose population doesn´t know about the Gospel, it was necessary go and announce it. When we arrived we told them: “We are going to talk to you about Jesus. He was a man who helped people like you. Do you know him?” and a boy answered: “That guy has never been in our village”. Because of that I became missionary.
I: What would you change in Europe?
D: I would change people who try to change Europe without women.  The presence of women is necessary because we have a special feeling and we see things from other points of view.
I: To finish, how do you think young people can improve European society?
D: First of all, take advantage of opportunities for good training, because we are the immediate future.
I: Thank you very much Dominica, it was a pleasure.
D: You´re welcome, good bye.
